How to connect my domain name to Lovable.dev

Procédure

A custom domain allows you to use your own domain or subdomain for your published Lovable project. When you connect a custom domain, visitors can access your application via a custom URL instead of the default xxx.lovable.appURL of the project.
Connecting a custom domain improves your site's performance:

  • Brand identity: appear more trustworthy and professional
  • Search engine visibility: better SEO and discoverability
  • Memorability: easier to share and remember for users

Prerequisites

To connect a custom domain, make sure that:

  • You have a paid subscription to Lovable.
  • Your project is published on Lovable
  • You have registered your domain name with LWS.

Connect a custom domain

Actions to take on your Lovable interface

You can connect a domain from two locations:

  • Project → Settings → Domains
  • Publish modal → Custom domain

Follow the steps below to connect a custom domain:

  • Click on Connect Domain.
  • Enter your domain or subdomain (e.g., yourdomain.com or blog.yourdomain.com), click on Connect Domain, then click on Continue.

When adding a domain, Lovable does not automatically add the subdomain www. You can add it separately if you want both.

Scroll to the bottom of the "Select your domain provider" modal and choose "Go to our manual setup".

Actions to take on your LWS interface

Copy the A record then go to the DNS Zone of your LWS domain to replace the value of the existing @ record by following this documentation.

In the same way, add a TXT type DNS record for the one indicated by Lovable.

Once the records are made on LWS, return to your Lovable interface and click on Done. Please wait during the verification and issuance of the SSL certificate. Once these steps are completed, the domain will be activated and your Lovable application will be accessible on your custom domain.

DNS changes may take up to 24 hours to propagate, although most updates are effective within a few hours.

Conclusion

You now know how to:

  • Check the prerequisites needed to connect a custom domain to your Lovable project.
  • Perform the required actions on your Lovable and LWS interfaces to link your domain to your application.

By following these steps, you have taken a significant step towards strengthening your online presence and maximizing the impact of your Lovable project. 🌐✨
