Backup policy for your Plesk hosting (files, MySQL, emails)

Procédure

In brief

[PERSON_NAME] Windows Plesk web hosting benefits from automatic backups for your emails and web files. However, MySQL databases are not backed up on the LWS side — their backup is your responsibility via the native Plesk module. The restoration of web files is done through intervention by support from your customer area. For databases, only your own Plesk backup device allows for restoration.

Scope of backups

Email backups

The automatic backups of your Plesk emails follow the same policy as our shared Linux hosting plans. For details (frequency, duration, restoration), [PERSON_NAME] Backup policy for your shared web hosting.

Web file backups

[PERSON_NAME] web files are subject to automatic server backups. Restoration is not accessible in self-service from the Plesk interface [PERSON_NAME] intervention by support from your customer area. Our technical team restores files from the available server backups.

⚠️ MySQL databases: backup at your expense

Unlike web files and emails, MySQL databases on Plesk hosting are not automatically backed up on the LWS side. No database restoration from server backups is possible.

It is therefore essential to set up your own database backups via the native Plesk module (see section [PERSON_NAME]). Without this, in the event of loss or corruption of your database, no recovery will be possible.

Set up your own backups from Plesk

Plesk natively offers a manual and scheduled backup system that covers web files AND databases. This option allows you to:

  • Trigger an immediate backup on demand
  • Schedule recurring backups (daily, weekly…)
  • Download your backup archives to your device

Recommendation: schedule at least a daily backup including the databases, and regularly download the archives to external storage.

Note: these backups are stored on your hosting space and consume quota. Be sure to manage their volume.
