LWS Cloud Drive Backup Policy

Procédure

In brief

Your data stored on LWS Cloud Drive is automatically backed up by LWS on NAS devices separate from your storage space. The retention policy is up to 4 days daily + up to 1 month weekly. If needed, restoration is carried out upon request to support from your customer area, handled on a case-by-case basis — either free of charge or via managed services depending on the complexity of the work.

LWS backup policy for your data

LWS automatically backs up the data present on your Cloud Drive, stored on separate NAS devices to protect you against technical incidents:

  • Up to 4 daily backups are kept (last 4 days)
  • Beyond 4 days: 1 weekly backup kept, up to a limit of 1 month

This LWS retention policy is specific to Cloud Drive services, Nextcloud online storage, and servers (VPS / dedicated). It differs from that of our shared web hosting plans (which can extend up to 3 months with the Business Option).

How do I request a restoration?

To recover an earlier version of your data from our backups, contact our support from your customer area. Restoration is handled on a case-by-case basis: depending on the complexity of the work to be carried out, it may be handled free of charge or require a managed services intervention. Our team will inform you of the terms at the time of your request.

Physical protection of the infrastructure

  • ZFS file system with RAID-Z redundancy — protection against the failure of multiple disks
  • Double replication of data on independent physical servers
  • Automatic LWS backups on separate NAS devices (policy described above)
  • Encrypted transfers over SSL / HTTPS
  • Hosting in France, datacenters certified ISO 27001
  • GDPR compliance

Retention after termination

After termination of your Cloud Drive subscription, backups are retained in accordance with the applicable regulations (European GDPR and French legal obligations, notably allowing responses to judicial requisitions). For details, see our Terms and Conditions — data retention section.
